Martvili Canyon: The Emerald Heart of Samegrelo

It’s Located in the historic village of Gachedili, approximately 50 kilometers from Kutaisi. Martvili Canyon is one of Georgia’s most celebrated natural monuments.

Carved over millions of years by the Abasha River, this 2.4-kilometer gorge is a masterpiece of turquoise waters, limestone cliffs, and lush Colchic forests.

The most popular activity is a 300-meter boat trip through the upper canyon.

Boat rides are weather-dependent and may be suspended during heavy rain.

Passengers must be at least 1 meter tall to participate in the rafting.

It is easily reachable from Kutaisi (approx. 1 hour) or as a day trip from Batumi or Tbilisi (approx. 4.5–5 hours)
